Linda began working with Stevens Interiors Ltd. in 1989. Here, Linda had the honor of working with original founder Elmer Stevens as well as Rod Stevens and Art Green. Linda continued working for the firm when in 1996 Stevens Interiors Ltd. merged with Design One, and then in 2013 Linda took over Design One Stevens. She continues their proud tradition of high-quality design, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Linda cherishes the amazing connections she gets to make through her work, and relishes the challenge of helping each client discover and manifest their unique style. Linda Hutchinson grew up in Thunder Bay Ontario and moved to Vancouver Island in 1977. Originally settling in Nanaimo, she studied art and design at Malaspina, culminating in her starting a design career with some local firms. In Nanaimo she met and married her husband Dan, and then moved to Victoria.
Linda has been passionate about artistic expression since her youth, and knew all along that her future lay in interior design. In her spare time Linda enjoys creative outlets like painting, visiting museums, and travel, as well as ministry. She is committed to supporting women in business and has mentored numerous young designers. She loves playing tennis with her husband Dan who is quite the opponent. Her son René, as well as his wife Nicole, now work with Linda at Design One Stevens, continuing the legacy of family business the Stevens founded over 75 years ago.
